Kynect Sports was founded in 2017 by Blake and Hunter Hawley, brothers from Cloverport, Kentucky. The Hawley brothers both played basketball for their team, the Frederick Fraize Aces, for a combined total of 12 years. In 2011, the older of the two brothers, Blake Hawley, left Cloverport to attend the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Not wanting to miss any of his younger brothers basketball career, Blake asked Hunter to send him DVD’s of every game in the mail, and in return he would take and upload stats for the team. Hunter soon realized how time consuming it was to burn a DVD after each game, and decided to find an easier and more cost effective way using the internet to send the games to his older brother. He came up with the earliest version of Kynect Sports using his limited knowledge of HTML, CSS, and a YouTube account. Soon enough, Hunter was uploading footage and Blake was taking stats for the Cloverport girls team as well. After 6 years of perfecting the process of uploading film and taking stats, the Hawley brothers decided to offer their service to the rest of the state’s high school basketball teams.
Currently, Blake Hawley is attending graduate school at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville to obtain his doctorate in energy science and engineering. Hunter Hawley is attending the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, majoring in Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation. As for the DVD’s that Hunter used to send to Blake, they haven’t been seen in a long time.
